The recipes for the perfect Mother's Day...
When we think of Mother’s Day here at Farmers Leap HQ – we think of quality time with mum, with some delicious food – and wine. Of course there is wine!
We’re here to help this Mother’s Day - Whether it is a light, fresh, bubbly punch with lunch, or a deep, rich red wine hot chocolate with dessert.
For the former; a berry moscato punch. Here’s what you’ll need:
1 bottle (750 ml) Random Shot Moscato
1.5 litres of lemonade, chilled
1/4 cup raspberry vodka, chilled
Simply mix the moscato, lemonade and vodka together in a jug – top with fruit and ice – and serve! It really is that simple!
If you’re after something a little more warming for the soul (and this weather) – try making mum a red wine hot chocolate.
It doesn’t taste too much like wine – just enough for it to be a rich, fruity hot chocolate. (We recommend using good quality chocolate to match the good quality wine!)
To make 4 cups of Hot Choc, you’ll need:
2/3 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup red wine (We recommend the Random Shot Shiraz, or Random Shot Cabernet Sauvignon)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup thickened cream
2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
Pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Simply combine the chocolate chips, wine, milk, cream and sugar in a small saucepan over low/medium heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is hot.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and salt. Pour into mugs and serve! Delicious!
