I. What kind of information do we collect from you when you visit our site?
When you visit farmersleap.com, our stats package from Google collects some basic information about your browser. Examples are things like what type of browser and operating system are you using; how long did you stay on our site; and what pages did you look at. This helps us understand how visitors browse our site, so that we can make their shopping experience better.
We also collect personal information about you when you check out of our store such as your name, address, postal code, phone number, etc. We need this information to process payment and ship merchandise to you. From time to time, we will use this information to notify you about new Farmer's Leap products, services or promotions.
If at any time you no longer wish to be notified about new Farmer's Leap products, services or promotions, please let us know.
II. Sharing of information
In the circumstances described below, personal information may be disclosed outside Farmer's Leap.
a) Outsourcing - Personal information collected by Farmer's Leap may be disclosed to third parties to whom we contract out specialised functions (including mailing houses and printing companies). If Farmer's Leap does disclose personal information to third party contractors under outsourcing or contracting arrangments, Farmer's Leap takes steps to ensure that those contractors:
- comply with the National Privacy Principles when they handle your personal information; and
- are authorised only to use personal information in order to provide the services or to perform the functions required by Farmer's Leap
b) Disclosures required by law - For legal reasons, other disclosures may need to be made to law enforcement agencies, government agencies, courts or external advisers. For example, Farmer's Leap may be asked to disclose certain personal information about an individual to assist the police with an investigation into criminal activities. Farmer's Leap's policy is to only make such disclsures in accordance with the Privacy Act. Farmer's Leap's does not sell, rent or trade personal information to or with third parties.
III. Newsletter Opt-Out.
If you have chosen to opt into our newsletter or marketing emails and decide to opt out, we have a simple unsubscribe form that will let you get off our email list. Also, under the member area, you will find a simple form to unsubscribe.
IV. Consumer inquiries and privacy.
Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information which Farmer's Leap holds about you (although there are some exceptions to this). You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you which is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. If you wish to exercise your righht under the Act to seek access to the personal information that Farmer's Leap holds about you, let us know.
V. Protecting your information.
All the payment information we collect is done so under SSL - a standard internet security measure. Any data that we store about you is kept behind a secure firewall in our database and is not accessible to the public in any way.
Farmer's Leap do not store credit card information in our database.
A cookie is information that a web site puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time. In technical speak, it is information for future use that is stored by the server on the client side of a client/server communication. It is possible to disable the accepting of cookies by your web browser, however doing so may restrict your ability to access some web pages. Cookies may store the following information: session (numbered key) and duration. A numbered key is a unique server generated number used to identify the current session. The session key can be linked back to a user's login identification. Unique identifiers (such as login indentification) are collected from web site visitors to verify the user's identity, and for use as account numbers in our record system. Unique identifiers are also used to store information about visitor's preferences, to enable the dynamic display of the site according to your preferences when you return.
